She's been with many of the top outlets around the world. The journalist spent more than a decade reporting on the sport for The Washington Post, including tennis, football, and basketball. Nichols was a reporter for nine years with ESPN, where she won the network two Emmy Awards. Additionally, she was a sideline journalist for the Monday Night Football broadcasts. The next step was to CNN after which she joined Turner Sports. Unguarded the show, which she co-produced and hosted was telecast every week on CNN International. Over a billion viewers watched the show across the globe. Nichols also reported to TNT in NBA broadcasts during playoffs, as well as the broadcasts of the All-Star games. Nichols also worked for TBS reporting on golf and baseball broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. It was the only occasion in the award's 42 year history that a woman was nominated amongst the more than 200 nominations.
