In 2015 at 19 she debuted her first single, Here. It received praise from listeners and music critics. The song reached the top 19 of both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Best Songs. This is the same year that she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five tracks that were the first to reach Billboard's charts. The track in question was unique since based on her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to be a better person. Cara includes messages of love and kindness into her music. All of it is a result of her personal experiences as she struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to Reuters' interview, she has described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. Her growth was aided by therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers, if needed, to seek support. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since the year 1996. Her parents come from Italian origin. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10 and this led to her passion for music. In the year 2003, she turned 13 she started singing songs she loved via YouTube. It was an excellent method to demonstrate to the world that she possessed both ability and determination. Sweater Weather is one of the covers that resulted in her being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create the songs she wrote herself.
